The club is a member of CAMRA - The Campaign For Real Ale - and holds, what has now become, an annual real ale beer festival attracting visitors from across the immediate, near and wider, area. The extensive selection of well-kept home and micro brewery ales ranges from the very acquired taste to current and previous National champion brews - with a range of between 15 and 25 ales on offer at incredibly low prices. The 2 day weekend
Festival also includes live entertainment throughout the day and into the wee hours plus an open crown green bowls competition on the Sunday where quality BBQ food is also available. The Festival is designed to be family friendly and is a ‘must do’ having firmly established itself in the local events calendar. Throughout the crown green bowls season, the club hosts monthly Open competitions to encourage existing and new bowlers of all ages to participate and compete. The aim of the competitions, whilst still being structured and well organised, is to encourage new players in and thereby sustain the
many league teams. All the events are ‘turn up and enter on the day’ and have club held master trophies with prize money derived from club funds, entry fees and sponsorship.
